

Born February 1, 1927 in Amherst County, he was the son of the late Benjamin Clifton and Myrtle Martin Tomlin and was also preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Hovey, Albert, and James Tomlin and three sisters, Gladys Martin, Virginia Decker, and Margaret Tomlin. Mr. Tomlin was a Master Electrician and lifetime member of the I.B.E.W. He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor with Westminster Canterbury. Mr. Tomlin was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Tomlin is survived by four children, Lynn Conner, Wayne Tomlin and wife Janice, and Billy Tomlin and wife Jane, all of Madison Heights, and Ed Wooldridge of Lynchburg; a brother, Roosevelt Tomlin of Elon; a sister, Maxine Vest of Madison Heights; eight grandchildren, Michelle (Buzzy), Eddie, Steve, Terry (Jamacia), Kristy (Jimmy), Kathy (Jeff), Katie (Ryan), and Aaron (Jody); thirteen great-grandchildren, Bo, Hailey, Jessica (Tee), Bradley, Hayes, Aubrey, Kayden, Tyler, Lux, Marianna, Laura Grace, Silas, and Evie; three great-great-grandchildren, Waylon, Jayla, and Daymari and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Monday, February 19, 2018 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Terry Wornstaff, Chaplain Ronald Tomlin, and the Rev. Pete Peters officiating. Interment with military honors by American Legion Post 16 will follow at Tudor Hall Cemetery in Amherst County.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the funeral home and other times at the residence of his daughter.
