

Born October 20, 1946, in Amherst, she is survived by her mother, Eva Rigney Wright, of Madison Heights, and was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Wright. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Delores "Lois" Wright Floyd, and Margaret Wright Webster; and a nephew, Tony Lee Floyd.
Barbara, "Boo", was retired from Parker Hannifin with 41 years of service, and was of Christian faith. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt.
Survivors also include her son, Michael McLaughlin and wife Kristi, of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Larston and Lakin McLaughlin; her brother, Lawrence "Buddy" Wright, of Monroe; her sister, Christine Floyd, of Madison Heights; two special nephews, Jay Floyd and Tommy Wright; three special nieces, Sheryl Bryant, Karen Banton, and Dawn Floyd; six special great-nephews, Shaun Bryant, Shane Bryant, Schuyler Bryant, Brian Banton, Jason Floyd, and Damian Floyd; four special great-nieces, Stephanie Routon, Summer Yancey, Brittany Crawley, and Amanda Floyd; five special great-great-nephews, Caleb Hanks, Kadin Routon, Carter Bryant, Colton Crawley, and Kellan Floyd; two beloved friends, Sandra Brooks, and Lee Coffey.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7-8:30 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel, and at other times at the residence.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Fort Hill Memorial Park, by the Rev. Kenneth Alley.
