Betty Handy Pugh, 88, of Madison Heights passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Earl Taliaferro Pugh. Born December 9, 1927, in Stuart, VA, she was the daughter of the late Fernander C. Handy and the late Roberta Dalton Handy.
Betty was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and grandmother.
Betty is survived by her children, Bobby Pugh and his wife Sandra of Madison Heights and Kim Hall and her husband Sammy of Lynchburg; one grandson, Ryan Pugh of Madison Heights; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2016, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. William T. Burleigh officiating. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Humane Society of Amherst County.
