Buford Barry Jamison Sr.

Buford Barry Jamison, Sr., 80, of Madison Heights, formerly of Port Orange, FL, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Arlene Marvine Jamison.

Born September 22, 1932 in Covington, VA, he was the son of the late Warner Carmel Jamison, Sr. and the late Virginia Dickson Jamison and was also preceded in death by a son, Steven Wayne Jamison; one sister, Thelma J. Landis and two brothers, Warner C. Jamison, Jr. and James L. Jamison. Mr. Jamison was a retired Revenue Department Supervisor with the City of Ormond Beach in Florida. He was a member of Flomich Baptist Church of Holly Hill, FL and attended Elon Baptist Church.

Mr. Jamison is survived by one son, Barry Jamison and wife Chancer of Madison Heights; one sister, Doris J. Croxton of Warsaw, VA; two grandchildren, Olivia Moore and husband Sgt. William Michael Moore of Sneads Ferry, NC and P.F.C. Paul Jamison of Ft. Leanard Wood, MO and his fiancée, Jessica Merchant of Lynchburg and Mr. Jamison’s canine companion, “Pretty Baby”.

A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Elon Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Tyree officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
