Born on May 21, 1948 in Buena Vista, Clelon was the daughter of the late Richard T. Breeden and Virginia F. Breeden.
She married the love of her life, Gates, on June 1, 1968. She was the doting mother of two boys, Michael and Kevin, and later became "Nannie" to her five grandchildren who she loved wholeheartedly. Clelon was an avid doll collector. She loved planting flowers and gardening, baking cookies to share with her family and neighbors, and crafts such as needlepoint and coloring. Clelon was a Systems Analyst for the City of Lynchburg, and retired in 2003 after 35 years of service. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Madison Heights, Virginia.
In addition to her parents, Clelon is preceded in death by her siblings; three brothers, R. Stirling Breeden, Billy Breeden, and J. Ree Breeden, and one sister, Lucinda Abernathy.
Clelon is survived by her husband, Gates Berry; sons, Michael Berry and wife Tangie, and Kevin Berry and wife Jennifer; five grandchildren, Bailey Berry, Jackson Berry, Kacey Berry, Cody Berry, and Cameron Berry; and numerous friends and neighbors.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Faith Baptist Church where a celebration of Clelon's life will begin immediately after with Dr. Dan Reichard officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
