Deborah Joan Carson Mays, born on October 6, 1959, to Herman Eugene Carson and Catherine Nadine Smoot Carson, passed away unexpectedly at her home. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.
Deborah is survived by her devoted husband, Gregory S. Mays, her daughter Tracy Mays Keene (Eddie Jr.), sisters Teri Scott (Bruce) and Kelly Bray (Mike), and her cherished grandchildren Jacob Keene, Grayson Keene, and Zayden Keene. She also leaves behind her godmother, Joan Micelli of Alabama, and her loving parents, Herman and Catherine Carson.
Born and raised in Madison Heights, Virginia, Deborah brought warmth and joy to the lives of those around her. She had a passion for antiques and bargain shopping, finding beauty in the simple and unique. Her enthusiasm for decorating during the holidays, especially with her grandchildren, created cherished memories for the entire family.
Deborah found joy in attending tractor pulls and had a special fondness for John Deere tractors. Her love for family extended to spending quality time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to her life.
A visitation to celebrate Deborah's life will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 10 am, followed by a service at 11 am at Whitten Monelison Chapel, 3966 Amherst Highway, Madison Heights, Virginia. Burial will take place at Fort Hill Memorial Park, 5196 Fort Ave. in Lynchburg Virginia after the service. Pastor Steve Tyree will be officiating the service. Family will receive family and friends at 154 Camden Drive, Madison Heights after the service for support and cherishing memories.
