Eddie was born in Lynchburg, March 14, 1975. He was a self-taught painter, artist, and was an endearing man with a heart of gold. He would do anything for anyone in need. Eddie always thought of others more than his own needs and had a great smile that could light up a room, plus a laugh that would bring the house to their feet. He was a loving son, brother, father and uncle.
He is survived by his parents, Susan Short of Madison Heights and Clarence E. “Chip” Smoot, Jr. of Lynchburg; brother, Carlton “Peanut” Stratton; sister, Mary Beth Cash and husband Randy all of Lynchburg; his daughter Brittanie Smoot; nieces, Catherine and husband Alex and Dixie Stratton; nephews, Junior Stratton, Chance Cowart and Will Cash; great nephew Isaac and several aunts, including one special aunt, Barbara Lambert, uncle, cousins and friends.
A service celebrating Eddie's life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
