

Eleanor Jane Wamsley Pingley, 74, of Madison Heights, VA, passed away, Friday, April 9, 2010 at Virginia Baptist Hospital, in Lynchburg, VA. She was the devoted wife of Richard Henry Pingley, Jr. for fifty-four years.
Born October 12, 1935 in Huttonsville, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late George Dewey and Lauthbury Channel Wamsley and was also preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, James, and Robert Wamsley. Mrs. Pingley was retired from the Central Virginia Training Center.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Dena R. Gardner and husband, Howard of Winchester, VA, Tamara P. Coates and husband, Randall of Madison Heights, VA; two sons, Gregory Pingley and wife, Elizabeth, also of Madison Heights, VA and Richard Pingley, III of Roanoke, VA and his significant other, Thomas Meeks; four sisters, Jean Wamsley of Elkins, West Virginia, Josephine W. Collins and husband, Harold of Harrisonburg, VA, Ethel W. Collins and husband, Charles of Waynesboro, VA, and Barbara W. Fidler of Roanoke, VA and five grandchildren, Dustin Gardner, Katalin Gardner, Nicholle Coates, Jared Pingley, and Logan Pingley.
Graveside services will conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 12, 2010, at the Brick Church Cemetery in Randolph County, West Virginia with the Rev. Steve Tyree officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., today, April 10, 2010 at Elon Baptist Church.
