Born in Bedford County on November 23, 1933, he was the son of the late Preston Hall and Everine Mason Hall. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Creasy Hall.
Elmer was a skilled and dedicated brick mason, proudly applying his craft for many years before retiring from Jennings Masonry. Known for his steady hands and strong work ethic, he left his mark on countless structures throughout the community. Outside of his trade, Elmer found joy in the simple pleasure of searching for hidden gems at local flea markets, where he loved buying and selling treasures of all kinds and chatting with friends old and new.
He is survived by his two children, Tammy Morgan (Jimmy) of Madison Heights and Patrick Hall (Susan) of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Alex Morgan, Eric Morgan, Taylor Hall, and Braeden Hall; and one brother, Roy Hall. His family and those who knew him will remember his humble spirit, gentle humor, and generosity.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Briarwood Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Breakthrough T1D, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes (www.breakthrought1d.org).
