

Born July 4, 1925 in Amherst County, he was the son of the late Charles and Gallie Johns and was also preceded in death by eleven siblings. Mr. Johns was a retired machine operator with Simpkins Industries. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Mission.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Johns is survived by his daughter, Barbara J. Irvin and husband Billy of Madison Heights; sons, Larry R. Johns and wife Sandy of Frederick, MD and Jerry W. Johns and wife Bonnie of Cleveland, OH; a sister, Josie J. Heintz and husband Carroll of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Jessica, Michael, and Kenny and five great grandchildren, including, Abigail, Madelyn, and Penelope
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Don Moore officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul’s Episcopal Mission Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
