Gladys Pickeral Burley

Born on July 16, 1926 in Darlington Heights, VA she was the daughter of the late Albert Hickson Pickeral and Emma Dalton Pickeral. Gladys enjoyed being outside working with and enjoying her flower garden. She was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sons, James Burley and Johnny Burley; daughter, Nancy Wooldridge; grandson, Jimmy Burley; and siblings, Oscar Pickeral, Andy Pickeral, Annie Thompson, Geneva Davis, Tiny Matthews, Pearl Drumheller, Callie Bowles, and Mary Mays.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Brenda Cash and husband Junior and Linda Novak; seven grandchildren, Danny Wooldridge, Bobby Wooldridge, Renee Womack and husband Greg, Lee Lipscomb, Jason Burley, Tabitha Worley and husband Scott, and Dwayne Cash; ten great grandchildren; a number of great great grandchildren; half-sister, Dorothy Fender; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Oakdale Baptist Church in Madison Heights, with Pastor Terry Wornstaff officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
