Helen Creasy Whitehead, 92, of Monroe went to be with her Lord on December 9, 2025. She was born on November 8,1933 and was the eldest daughter of George and Mamie Creasy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Whitehead; a son, Ricky Whitehead; a grandson, Moriah Whitehead; her brothers, George Creasy and Richard Creasy; and her sister Violet Ellington.
Surviving Helen are her children, Rosa Jordan (Jim) of Monroe, Andy Whitehead (Jane) of Lynchburg and Sharon Connelly (Danny) of Madison Heights; her grandchildren, Brandy, Jamie, Chris, Alex, Patience and Jerrica; nine great-grandchildren, Reed, Sophie, Harper, Samantha, Kenda, Zoe, Alex, Kaytlynn and Jordan; one great great-grandchild, Penelope; her sister, Marie Moore of Lynchburg; a host of nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Rachel Lindsey.
She grew up in Madison Heights and graduated from Madison Heights High School. She worked at Craddock Terry Shoe Factory, General Electric and Errickson where she retired in 1993. Helen loved to garden, read, go camping and take care of her grandchildren.
She was also a lifelong member of Elon Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving her Lord in the WMU and Sunday School.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Rev. Cody Bingham and Jane Whitehead officiating. Helen’s interment will be private.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
