

Born November 1, 1937, in Oak Ridge, VA, he was a son of the late Walter Petit Parrish and Cora Bell Witt Parrish. He was a member of Bethlehem UMC, and was retired from Verizon. He was a volunteer with the Monelison Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad for over 30 years and served as Chief from 1977-1980. He was a member of the Harley Owners Group and was a big George Straight fan.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Juny Parrish, and Bill Parrish; and two sisters, Anne Tyree, and Sis Mawyer.
Survivors also include his daughter, Jacqueline Parrish Faria and husband Kevin, of Lynchburg; his son, Jonathan Parrish and wife Tami, of Forest; two brothers, George Parrish, of Madison Heights, and Malcolm Parrish and wife Betty Jean, of Arrington; his sister, Mildred Texter, of Richmond; two granddaughters, Antoinette Kloszewski, and Raven Storey, both of Forest; two great-granddogs, Sami, and Meme, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7-8:30 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel and at other times at the residence.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Whitten Monelison Chapel by Pastor Stephen Willis. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Monelison Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad.
