Born in Danville on March 28, 1933 he was a son of the late Jessie Walton, Sr. and Sally Dove Johnson.
In addition to his wife and parents he is preceded in death by two siblings, Jessie Walton, Jr. and Doris Bell.
He is survived by his children, Thela Walton and her wife Tami Greep, of Madison Heights, Doug Walton and his wife Georgiann of Big Island, and Becky May and her husband Greg of Lynchburg; and a beloved granddaughter, Kristen Walton and her fiancé Kyle Wessells of Lynchburg.
