Jackie Leslie Moreland

Born November 18, 1925 in West Palm Beach, FL, he was the son of the late Grover Jackson Moreland and Erma Wellman Moreland and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shelia Moreland. He was a retired welder with Montague-Betts Steel Co. with 33 years of service, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Moreland was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he survived by his children, Leslie R. Moreland and wife Kathy, and Curtis G. Moreland and wife, Joyce Ann, both of Lynchburg, Betty M. Neas of Lynchburg, Theresa Nickles and husband Mark of Rustburg and Darryl W. Moreland, of Fredericksburg; a brother, Robert K. Moreland ; a sister, Stephanie Moreland, both of West Palm Beach, FL; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Grace Baptist Church, with Pastor Dan Lee officiating. Interment with military honors by American Legion Post 16 will follow at Meade Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at the residence.
