Born in Lynchburg April 18, 1959, he was the son of Fitzmaurice Tyree Stern of Amherst and the late William Rayford Stern. Jeff was a retired Firefighter/Paramedic from the Lynchburg Fire Department after 30 years of service. He was also an entrepreneur and founded Blue Star Solar Energy and was a member of Elon Presbyterian Church. He loved the outdoors where he enjoyed fly-fishing and hiking. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and loved his dogs. Jeff was a loving son, husband, father and brother and he will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his sons, Jared Stern and Jacob Stern; his sister Kathy S. McMillan and her husband Corky and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Adam Stern.
A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 6 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2021 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Blake Wingfield officiating. Due to COVID restrictions, masks will be required and social distancing practiced.
