

Born October 17, 1929, in Madison Heights, he was a son of the late John Lee Foster and Jimmie Spencer Foster. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ed, James, and Thurman Foster; and two sisters, Dorothy Hamlett and Virginia Farmer.
Mr. Foster was retired as the owner and operator of the Boot and Shoe Corral, in Amherst. He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors also include two daughters, Cheryl Foster Winn and husband Charles, of Goode, and Lynne Foster Simpson and husband Robbie, of Madison Heights; his sister, Lillian Bobbitt, of Lynchburg; 6 grandchildren, Christy Land and husband Joey, Mary Emily Winn, Courtney Tinnell and husband Tripp, Tiffany Parker and husband Jarrett, Jonathan Simpson, and Dylan Simpson; 7 great-grandchildren, Griffin, Riley, Ryder, Will, Alexis, Hailey, and Blake.
The family will receive friends today, Sunday, January 9, 2011, from 5-7:00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 10, 2011, at Whitten Monelison Chapel, by the Revs. Earl Clarkson, David Heerspink, and Jonathan Falwell. Interment will follow in Meade Cemetery.
