

Born August 10, 1941, in Montclair, NJ, he was a son of the late John Michael Damiano Sr. and is survived by his mother, Anna Zicarro Damiano Bocock, of Bayville, NJ.
Mr. Damiano was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He was a National Guard veteran, having served during the Korean conflict. He was a founder of the first chapter of the Knights of Columbus at St. Patricks’s Catholic Church, in Lexington, VA. He was a talented musician of many instruments. He was a volunteer with the Pedlar Fire Dept., and a member of the International Red Knights Motorcycle Club, chapter 16. He was retired from Southern Air as a plumber.
He is survived by his son, Joseph P. Damiano Jr. and his fiancẻe, Karen Wade, of Nelson County; two brothers, Robert Damiano and wife Beth, of Bayville, NJ, and John M. Damiano Jr. and wife Darlene, of Lanoka Harbor, NJ; sisters, Patricia Damiano Levance and husband Jim, of Monroe, NC, Helen Janz, of Bayville, NJ, and Christine Damiano, Longmont, CO; two grandchildren, Amanda and Thomas Damiano; and great-grandson, Thomas “Little T” Damiano Jr.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 8, 2011, from 7-9:00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Casual dress is suggested. Interment will follow in Harris Family Cemetery, at the residence, in Pleasant View.
The family will receive friends after the graveside service at the home of Joseph Damiano Sr., for a celebration of his life. Please bring your instruments.
