

Joy Lee Riner, 49, of Madison Heights, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the home of her mother. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
Born on June 29, 1967 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of Joyce Steuart Riner and the late Robert Lee Riner.
Joy was a 20 year member of Grace Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and studier of the Bible. Several years ago she graduated 2nd in her class with high honors from the Bible Study Institute. She enjoyed volunteering at food banks, and the bookstore at Liberty University. She also enjoyed following the number 24, Jeff Gordon, in NASCAR.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her fiancé, Marshall Dalton and her maternal grandmother, Ethel Steuart.
She is survived by her mother, Joyce Riner of Madison Heights; sister, Cheree Taylor and husband Scott of Monroe; two nieces, Sophia and Stormy Taylor of Monroe; special family, Jean Springer and TW Riner; special friends, Martha Burnette, Ruth Hoffman and Cindy Floyd; former Pastor, John Pickett; and her church family who embraced, loved and supported Joy.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Grace Baptist Church, 337 Lakeview Dr., Madison Heights, VA with Pastor Dan Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at 12 noon.
