

June Abbit Logwood, 83, of Madison Heights, passed away, Friday, January 28, 2011 at Runk & Pratt Adult Residential Care in Forest. She was the wife of the late Calvin Loxley Logwood.
Born June 7, 1927 in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Hardy Abbitt and Lemora Kitchen Abbitt and was also preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Hardy “Bud” Abbitt, Jr. and a nephew, Jon Mathewson. She was retired from General Electric with thirty-two years of service and was also a former employee of Blue Buckle Overall Company. She was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Logwood is survived by her daughter, Pamela L. Trent and husband, David of Madison Heights; one sister, Eddie Ann Mathewson of Glen Allen; two step-grandchildren, Jason D. Trent and wife, Holly of Lynchburg and Justine T. Betts and husband, Ryan of Milford, DE; one step-great-granddaughter, Georgianne Brooke Trent; eight nephews, Tommy Logwood, Tom Gorney, Jerry Logwood, Wayne Mathewson, Mark Mathewson, Danny Logwood, Kim Logwood, and Clint Logwood, and four nieces, Linda Delano, Teresa Bivins, June Sipos, and Gina Caulder.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 31, 2011 at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law.
