Kenneth Larry Payne

Born March 31, 1936 in Concord, NC, he was the son of the late Joye F. and Minnie Hall Payne and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Janice Richburg and two sisters. Rev. Payne was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Pleasant View, where he served as Pastor for fifteen years.

In addition to his wife, Rev. Payne is survived by four daughters, Teresa Saunders, Joy Foster and husband David, all of Monroe, Libby Hires and husband Jimmy of Richmond Hill, GA, and Natalie Turner and husband Shane of Monroe; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Dwayne Martin, Rev. Carl Davis, Rev. Evan Johnson, and Rev. Douglas Turner officiating. Interment with military honors by American Legion Post 16 will follow at Allwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
