Kristy Staton Goodman

Kristy was born in Albemarle, Co., February 13, 1975. She was a former employee of Genworth where she had worked for 16 years. She was a loving daughter, mother and sister. She was kindhearted, enjoyed the outdoors and having fun. She was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. She will be missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Kenneth “Buster” Staton, one sister, Leslie Staton Beaddles and one brother, Elmer “Shorty” Wright.

Survivors include her parents, Barbara and Gary Sowell of Concord; two sons, Brandon Scott Goodman and Cameron Isiah Goodman both of Concord; four sisters, DeeDee Koelsch (Richard) of Rustburg, Heather Hudnall (Paris) and Brandy Clark (Robbie) all of Lynchburg and Frances Floyd of Roanoke; two brothers, David Sowell (Tracy) of Rustburg and Willie Darbro of Lynchburg and a host of other extended family members and friends.

A service celebrating Kristy’s life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Adam Staton officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
