

She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth (Wayne) Burnette.
Born February 25, 1938 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. The daughter of the late Martha Angel Rowland Sale and the late Lorenzo Mortenson Rowland.
She was a member of the Church Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved her Heavenly Father very much and always testified of him to others.
Martha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The love of her life was her family, grand and great-grandchildren. Wayne’s step-mother, Juanita Burnette, stayed dear to her heart. She cherished the friendship of special friends, Gloria and Alton Daulton and Harold and Josephene Martin and many others.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Dottie Staffa, Agnes Daniel, Beverly Dix Bara and one brother, Theron Rowland.
Martha is survived by two daughters, Terri Lynn Brooks (Michael) and Debra Faye Wood of Madison Heights, Virginia; one son, Jerry Dwayne Burnette (Yvonne) of Mechanicsville, Virginia; six grandchildren, Stephanie Wood Tomlin (Marion), Jennifer Wood, Courtney Marie Cunningham (Charlie) all of Madison Heights, Virginia, Christina Nicole Sale (Chad Catron) of Lynchburg, Virginia, Tyler Dwayne Burnette (Lindsay) of Newport News, Virginia, and Christopher Ryan Burnette of Richmond, Virginia; great grandchildren, Bryson Vaughn Tomlin, Brooks Vaughn Tomlin, Brayden Vaughn Tomlin, Izabella Marie Cunningham, and Juniper Nicole Cunningham all of Madison Heights, Virginia, Kambrie Nicole Sale and Lexie Renee Catron of Lynchburg, Virginia; sister, Pernell Martin of Richmond, Virginia; and brother-in-law, James Richard (Ricky) Burnette.
Funeral Serviced will be conducted at 1 pm on Monday, January 25, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 110 Melinda Drive, Lynchburg, Virginia 24502. Services will be conducted by Samuel Roskelley and Bishop Evan Ownby will be presiding. Interment will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at noon at the church.
