Born February 3, 1947 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Henry Dew Viar and Flossie Irvin Viar. Cathy was a retired administrative assistant with First Colony Life Insurance Company and was of Baptist faith.
In addition to her husband, Cathy is survived by two daughters, Teresa Howell and husband Duane and Diana Johnson and husband James, all of Madison Heights and five grandchildren, Sabrina Mosteller and husband Graham, Jacquelyn Howell, Kaitlyn Johnson, Logan Howell, and Victoria Howell.
