Maxine Elliott Rigsby

Born on October 2, 1923 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Terry Lee Elliott and Ruth Hammersley Elliott.

Maxine was a member of Randolph Memorial Baptist Church. She retired from Mead Corporation after 40 years of service. She enjoyed her flower garden and angel garden.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Meara Linda Gallaher and siblings, Marvin Elliott, Lloyd Elliott, Carroll Elliott, Dorothy Garrett, and Hilda Elliott.

Maxine is survived by her son, John Rigsby and wife Jeanne; grandchildren, Lee Gallaher and wife Brandy and Bobby Lee Rigsby; step-granddaughter, Theresa Latchford; great granddaughter, Alyssandra Lee Gallaher; step great grandchildren, Lisa Grishaw, Katherine Ashley, Elizabeth Knowles, John M. Witt, Michael A. Witt, and Anthony Latchford; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Whitten Monelison Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at 10 am.
