It is hard to believe Mike departed from us a year ago. I think of my friend often and miss him a lot. I know his family has him forever in their hearts. Still I miss the phone calls and face to face conversations and laughter and smiles. Soon there will be no more tears only endless joy when we all meet again in the place Jesus went to prepare for us. Jim Warner

Mike was our go to plumber for many years. He always came quickly no matter how big or small the job and always with a smile and a story! We will be forever grateful for his kindness to my mom and dad as well as to us. Rest well in your heavenly home Mike!

Mike was a wonderful dependable person.  I could always depend upon him. When I would stop @ J & J to  pay him he was always smiling and said to call when needed.  Will miss you, Mike.  Until then RIP.          Cecil Thacker
  



Mike was such a good old soul. Whenever I had a plumbing problem or question he would fix it or share his knowledge so I could fix it.
Enjoyed talking with him on the job or at his favorite hangout J&J.
Certainly will miss him..

Mike was such a great guy. He was determined to fix any problem you had or find the right person to do it. Though it was usually him.  He has a great smile and a good sense of humor and the  patience needed in the good work he did. And he was all about his family. Prayers to you all. 

My heart is broken as I considered Mike to be more than a brother to me. I knew Mike for over 30 years and we spent many many hours together working on things. Whether it was the shop I ran in Madison Hts. or at my home. Working on his truck or my vehicles we spent a lot of time under the hood or working on the building etc. Whenever I called Mike was always ready to help me or others. This world was much better with Mike in it and a lot worst now that he has passed into the next. May the Lord reward  him and grant him Eternal Peace in Heaven. He gave of himself where ever he could be of help. Goodbye Mike and my heart goes out to his family may the Lord's Peace be with them. You did good Mike! God Speed to you. Jim Warner

He was amazing.  A great man and friend. I could talk about  him for a week and not be done.  One of the best person's I have ever met.

Mike  was a good person ,he would help all he could and helped a lot of people . He would hang out at the shop  if someone needed a ride he would give them  a lift . He will be  missed by many,  R.I .P   Mike

Mike and his Dad, George were the first two people I met when I first moved to Lynchburg in 1985. I moved here to work for 84 Lumber and the first morning I was there Mike and his Dad came in and were my first customers that I ever waited on! I saw Mike nearly every day for the 5 years I worked there and later after I left 84 Lumber, I would see him from time to time at the various plumbing supply houses where I've worked. Mike was one of the kindest people I've ever met and would give you the shirt off his back. When my wife and I first got married we lived in a one bedroom apartment and we were getting ready to move into a two bedroom. I was taking the afternoon off to move but that morning I broke my foot and had to have surgery. Mike came over, without being asked, and he and my wife moved all our stuff and he refused payment for his help. Although I didn't see him every day I still l consider him my oldest and dearest friend in Lynchburg! He was a wonderful human and I will miss seeing him. RIP Mike!
