Born February 4, 1952, in Amherst, VA, Nancy was the daughter of the late Hester Dodd Martin and the late Madeline Nancy Mays Martin.
Nancy was preceded in death by two brothers; Robert Wayne Martin and Roy Lee Martin as well as, Nancy's late former husband, Donald Richard Lowe, the father of their son, Michael Dodd Lowe, who also recently passed. Michael was Nancy's pride and joy and reason for everything. The bond they shared was beautiful. She was his caregiver and devoted her life to her son.
Nancy is survived by two brothers Richard Riley Martin of Madison Heights, VA and Hester "Henry" Dodd Martin Jr. (Margie), of Rustburg, VA. In addition, she leaves a host of family and many dear friends who cherished her.
In Nancy's younger years, she modeled and acquired training through Carol Riggs Studio.
"Go", a nickname given by her dad, was a beautiful, dedicated, determined, and strong willed woman, who will be missed by many.
The family would like to thank all those listed by Nancy previously in Michael's obituary, as you also hold a dear place in our hearts. Thank you to all those who have reached out offering condolences and warm thoughts for Nancy. It is truly appreciated. Special thanks to Rev. Larry Fitzgerald for his service to the family, especially over the last year. Also, to Tamera Wilson, a longtime friend and Nancy's hair dresser for offering her services.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Whitten Monelison Chapel followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm with Pastor Larry Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow at Amherst Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Arc of Central VA in memory of Nancy and Michael.
