Nancy Louise Burge Stinson

Nancy Louise Burge Stinson, 74, of Madison Heights passed away Friday, June 21, 2019, at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born August 27, 1944, in Appomattox County, she was the daughter of the late James Edward Burge and the late Lula Ayers Burge.

Nancy was a retired deputy clerk for the City of Lynchburg where she worked for 27 years and a member of Oakdale Baptist Church. Nancy attended Appomattox High School, and in her early years worked as the church secretary for the Chestnut Hill Church. She has a positive attitude, loved music, her Bible and her family; she loved adventures.

Nancy is survived by her son, Dean Edward Stinson and his wife Betty of Madison Heights; two sisters, Patricia B. Stinson of Madison Heights and Shirley Mae Smith of Lynchburg; three granddaughters, Melissa Stinson Mull and her husband Billy, Deana Joy Stinson and Grace Ellen Stinson; three great granddaughters, Hannah Marie Mull, Marlee Claire Mull and Marrion Louise Mull; her nephew Joel Smith and his wife Brandi, and their daughter Olivia of Forest.

A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 24, 2019, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Jim Freeman officiating. Interment will follow at Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the residence of Dean Stinson.
