Born in Lynchburg on March 30, 1945 he was a son of the late Robert Day and Margaret Day. Bobby was a faithful member of Peoples Baptist Church in Madison Heights, a devoted Jets fan and he retired from Lynchburg Foundry after 26 years and Lynchburg Steel after 13 years. He loved to tell his great- grandchildren stories. His laughter and humor will be missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his children, Kimberly Campbell (Chris), Christopher Day (Andra) and Robert “Tony” Day (Ann Marie); two brothers, George Day and James Day; five grandchildren, Kayla Dodd (Justin), Jenna Brogan (John), Blake Day, Ian Day, and Lennon Meadows; five great-grandchildren that he loved beyond measures, Madison, Channing, Arizona, Ellie and Tucker.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Peoples Baptist Church in Madison Heights with Pastor Frank Gooch officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Peoples Baptist Church.
