Born on July 17, 1938 in Amherst County, he was the son of the late Luther Johns and the late Cammie Branham Johns. Roy served our country in the United States Marines and he retired from the Lynchburg City School Board Office. Roy was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine Murphy; a son, Roy Johns, Jr.; two brothers; and two sisters.
He is survived by his son, Jason Johns and wife Belinda; daughter, Elizabeth Martin; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services will be private and held at a later date.
