Stanley Harold Gildersleeve

Stanley Harold Gildersleeve, 81, of Madison Heights, died, Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was the husband to the late Lenore Sue Gildersleeve. Born May 26, 1930, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Abraham Frank Gildersleeve and the late Alice Levy Gildersleeve.

Mr. Gildersleeve was a retired printer for TGC and he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was also very involved with the Special Olympics organization in New York.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Gildersleeve was preceded in death by one brother, Victor Gildersleeve.

Mr. Gildersleeve is survived by his daughter, Terri-Beth Gruber and her husband Wilhelm of Amherst; his sister, Rose McLeer of Brooklyn, NY; two grandchildren, Christina Gruber and Nicholas Gruber; and other extended family.

A memorial service will be conducted, 2 p.m., Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Living Water Baptist Church with the Rev. Daryl W. Donald, Sr. and the Rev. Jack W. Finch officiating.

The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Friday, April 6, 2012, at Whitten Monelison Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Living Water Baptist Church Playground Fund.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the hospice staff at Virginia Baptist Hospital.
