Steven Rex Tweedy

Steven Rex Tweedy, 69, of Madison Heights passed away Monday, December 19, 2016, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia Moore Tweedy. Born August 7, 1947, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Rector “Rex” Wilbur Tweedy and the late Kathleen Trent Tweedy.

Steven was a retired pipe roller for Griffin Pipe Company and a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Steven is survived by his children Michael Tweedy and his wife Allison of Lynchburg and Stephanie Tweedy of Madison Heights; one sister Wanda Gail Jedelsky and her husband Jim of Madison Heights; one granddaughter, Summer Tweedy; his canine companion, Fred; and other loving family members and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 23, 2016, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Terry Wornstaff officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
