Terry Wayne Wood

Born December 6, 1955 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Carl Kenneth Wood, Sr. and the late Lois McKenna Wood and was also preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Wayne Wood; a brother, Carl Kenneth “Ken” Wood, Jr. and a great nephew, Kolton. Terry was a retired mechanic with Advantage Tire and was a member of the Monelison Volunteer Fire Department. He as a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Terry survived by his daughter, Terri Dawn Smith (Adam) of Rustburg; a brother, Barry L. Wood (Teresa) of Amherst; two sisters, Dianne Stedman (David) of Lynchburg and Carroll Martin (Pete) of Appomattox; three nieces, Lee Ann Wood (Tink), Brittany Roy( Daelin), Meagan Collier, and five nephews, Tyler Wood, Brandon Stedman (Misty), Chris Stedman (Candon), Kenneth Martin (Shannon) and Jeff Martin (Jamie); five great nephews, Eli, Brayden, Bryson, Brendan, (who always called Terry), “Pie Pie” and Eastyn, and a great niece, Aubree. Terry is also survived by a special lifelong friend, Petey Barnett; special friends, Jimmy and Rose Davis and his “granddog”, Knala.

A funeral service to celebrate Terry’s life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Carroll Martin, officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, prior to the service, beginning at 1:30 p.m. and at other times at the home of Barry and Teresa, 261 Izaak Walton Road, Amherst.
