
Vanda Davis Mawyer, 59, of Lynchburg, is now free from pain, because she went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Robert F. Mawyer for thirty-one years.
Born September 17, 1951 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late James and Erma Wise Davis and was also preceded in death by one brother, Danny Davis. Vanda was a former employee of the Central Virginia Training Center and the Lynchburg Health Department.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Bobby Mawyer (Michele) of Madison Heights and Mark A. Mawyer (Elizabeth) of Amherst County; one daughter, Wendy Pribble (Rhonda Eubank) of Lynchburg; six grandchildren, Jacob Pribble, Cody Lang, Michael “Doodle Bug” Mawyer, Alana Williams, Haley Mawyer, and Kenzley Mawyer; one sister, Sajanna Childress of Arizona and three brothers, Gary Davis of Arizona, Stevie Davis and Jimmy Davis, both of Virginia.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 12, 2011 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Steve Tyree officiating. Interment will follow at Presbyterian Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the funeral home.
