Born July 8, 1939 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Edward Lee and Gladys Stillwell Johnson and was also preceded in death by a sister, Carol Goff. Johnny was retired from Mead/Rock Tenn and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Madison Heights.
Johnny was known for his humor, kindness, and love for his family. He enjoyed his favorite movies, collecting coins, and was a Jeapordy champ, in his own right.
In addition to his wife, Johnny is survived by his son, Mark Johnson and wife, Nancy of Lynchburg; his daughter, Beth Anderson and husband Jason of Cheyenne, WY; a sister, Nancy Tyree and husband Butch of Madison Heights; five grandchildren, Hollen, Jamie, Taylor, Emily, and Jay and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 1, 2021 at Faith Baptist Church with The Rev. Brian Hudson and Pastor Daryl Donald officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in Lynchburg.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Faith Baptist Church and other times at the residence.
