William Watts Peters

William Watts Peters, 88, of Madison Heights passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Phyllis Ashwell Peters. Born March 6, 1930, in Amherst County, he was the son of the late John Wesley Peters and the late Bernice Wood Peters.
William was a retired contractor for William Peters Builder and a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife and parents, William was preceded in death by one son, Glenn W. Peters; four brothers, G. Edward Peters, Luther Thomas Peters, Samuel Martin Peters and Charlie Lewis Peters; one grandson, William “Billy” Carson Clements; and one granddaughter, Kristi Dawn Hunt.
William is survived by four children, Barbara P. Clements of Madison Heights, Brenda P. Hunt (Barry) of Madison Heights, Donald R. Peters (Tonya) of Amherst and Ronald R. Peters (Barbara) of Madison Heights; daughter-in-law, Sterling Peters; one brother, James B. Peters (Augusta) of Amherst; ten grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Whitten Monelsion Chapel with the Rev. Marvin Suitt officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2019, at Whitten Monelison Chapel and at other times at the residence.
