Dolores Owens Kelly

A 1954 graduate of Dupont High School, Dolores worked for the West Virginia Library Commission until her retirement.

Dolores was a faithful member of Big Bottom Baptist Church and loved her church family.

With a love and talent for gardening, Dolores enjoyed tending the flower beds in her yard and caring for her houseplants. She also loved to read, spending many hours enjoying books from the public library on her Kindle.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Paul W. Kelly; mother, Lottie Owens; sister, Mildred Stevens; and brothers Carl, Raymond, and Harold Owens.

She is survived by daughters, Lisa Kelly (Ken Lee) of Joshua Tree, California, and Dina Thistlethwaite (Tim) of Charleston; grandson, Liam Thistlethwaite; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Pastor Greg Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney, WV.

A visitation with family and friends will be held from 12:00 Noon to service time at the funeral home.
