Geraldine "Geri" Faye Carpenter

Geraldine “Geri” Faye Carpenter, 72, of Charleston, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at CAMC Memorial Hospital. She was born October 20, 1942 in Elkview to the late Clyde and Lydia Anderson Carpenter. Geri retired as a claims manager from Blue Cross Blue Shield and was a member of Point Lick Gospel Tabernacle, Campbells Creek. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by brother, Bobby Carpenter; and sister, Ann Fouty. Geri is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Paul Carpenter; daughter, Theresa Fitzgerald Wine of Hilton Head, SC; stepdaughters, Paula (Joe) Tuttle and Tina Auxley, both of Winston Salem, NC, Trenda Whitworth of Blacksburg, SC, and Leona of Ohio; stepson, Paul Carpenter Jr. of Blacksburg, SC; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2015, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with the Rev. Randy Scott officiating. The burial will follow the service in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney. Family and friends will gather for the visitation from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home on Monday.
