

Jeannie was born at Witcher on June 29, 1943, to the late Henry James Sr. and Vivian Mullins Young. She was a homemaker and a Polio survivor. She was a lifelong member of Esta Memorial Baptist Church where she played the piano for 53 years and taught Sunday School and work with the youth. She taught piano for many years and had a great impact on all she came into contact with.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mildred Paxton, Betty Buckner and Janice Neeley; brothers, Henry James Young Jr. and Ronald Lee Young.
Jeannie is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, C.T. Hoy; son, Ron (Peggy) Hoy of Witcher; sister, Nada Spitzer of Augusta, GA.; grandchildren, Leah (Kelcey) O’Neil of Dandridge, TN., Sarah (Chris) Davis and Logan (Sophie) Hoy, all of Witcher; special friend, Hannah Neeson; nine great-grandchildren, Eirinn, Patrick and Cate O’Neil, Owen, Alaina and Piper Davis and Ellie, Anna and Rosie Hoy; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Jeannie’s Home Going will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Esta Memorial Baptist Church, Witcher with Pastor Randy Wilson officiating. The service will be live streamed on the Church’s YouTube page. Burial will follow at Witcher Cemetery.
A visitation with family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Monday, November 20, 2023, at the Church.
