

Rex was born in Charleston on March 8, 1952, to the late Charles Franklin and Edith Mae Robinson Lewis. He retired from the City of Charleston and formerly worked for Dow Chemical. Rex was a retired minister, having pastored several churches in Kanawha County and was presently attending Ruth Community Church.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Marline Lewis.
Rex is survived by his son, Scott Lewis of Buckner, North Carolina; sister, Faye Bowles of Nitro; and several nieces and nephews; special great-great niece and nephew, Brooklyn and Waylon; and a special neighbor, Chad McDougal.
At Rex’s request, cremation has been honored and a Memorial Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Ruth Community Church, South Charleston, with Pastor Gene Pauley officiating. His cremains will be buried beside his wife at the Robinson Family Cemetery, Charleston, at a later date.
