

Steve was a 1969 graduate of DuPont High School and a lifelong resident of Witcher Creek. He had a 47 year career as a coal miner and retired from Alpha Natural Resources.
Steve was a member of UMWA.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Tryphena Igo; brothers, Gary and Paul Igo; and son, Philip Igo.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Jeff (Mary) Igo of Durham, NC; grandson, Cameron (Nadia) Igo of Belle; granddaughter, Emily (Stephanie) Igo of Durham, NC; great-grandson, Dallas Igo of Belle; brother, Larry (Dorma) of Brandon, FL; sister, Nikki Chestnut of Belle; brother-in-law, Price (Nancy) Summers of Charleston; nephew, Justin (Samantha) Summers of Kenna; and grand-nephew, Tyson Summers of Kenna.
Together with his wife and family, Steve enjoyed traveling and seeing new places, but was always glad to come home. He enjoyed being outdoors, his pets, growing a garden, and watching sports. On the weekends, Steve and Denise loved hosting family and friends at their pool. He was an avid music lover and as a young man, he was a rhythm guitarist in multiple bands.
A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 8th, 2022, at Diamond Baptist Church, Diamond with Larry Tittle speaking.
