Alexis was born on July 7, 1944 and raised in Millburn, NJ.
Her loving parents Robert and Margaret (nee Zelinski) Sangster predeceased her.
Loving wife of 54 years to James J. Wanamaker, devoted mother of James R. Wanamaker, Jeffrey D. Wanamaker, and his wife Tracy R. Wanamaker and the best Grammie to Kathryn Alexis and Addison Grace who she loved bunches.
Her cherished sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Catherine Marsh and her late husband David Marsh, Mary and Colin MacIntyre, and Anne and Keith Maher also survive Alexis. She was a beloved aunt, cousin and friend to many. Sister to Robert Sangster of California,
Alexis loved to garden and plant flowers from spring to fall; she cared for many pets, ducklings, ducks, turtles, and other wild animals her entire life. She loved reading books, feeding her ducks, being with family especially on Christmas, doing jigsaw puzzles, going to the beach, crabbing, donating to worthy causes, cooking and baking especially with her granddaughters.
Alexis worked for the Millburn Township public schools before retiring and moving to Cedar Run. She was a disappointed New York JETS fan and was always yelling in the stands or at the TV like the rest of her family.
Alexis was the best wife, mom, Grammie, aunt and friend anyone could ever ask for, she will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
Services are private and the family will have a memorial in the spring or summer of 2021.
