Hello Nancy, this Alicia.  I want to wish you my deepest condolences.  Art is now at peace and in a better place.
I received call from Fred on Saturday about Art. I was so saddened by the news.
I really feel privileged to have known him.  I am really glad that I was able to spend sometime with you both when you last came to Las Vegas.
I always enjoyed both of you very much.  Art had a great personality and knew how to make a person feel comfortable and welcome.
I am just so sorry that we were not able to spend more time together.  If you ever need anyone to talk to you please feel free to call.
I will follow with a card.   Bless you and all your family through these days of sorrow.

I have many childhood memories of 'Mr Long'. I was close with his eldest daughter Debbie as they lived across the street from me in the 'hood'. In later years I became very close with His daughter Linda. His daughter Nancy married my brother, Chuck. Chuck was also close with Mr Long's eldest son Chalie and they were close with Billy Dellandre, who became Linda's husband. Nancy was also close with my sister Jennie. Mr Long looked after me like another daughter ( I guess because my dad wasn't around and I was always at their house.) Mr Long was a very stern Father. But he was also loving and kind. He would always take one of his kid's friends to Spring Lake (where he was a Lifeguard) or to LBI. He was a handsome man in a Steve McQueen kind of way. He was blessed to have a very loving wife, Nancy and they raised six great children. I was fortunate to have spent time with the Long Family at The Lodge where 'Art' was generally the Father figure. My girls called him 'Poppy Art' as he was a grandfather figure to them. Years passed and I hadn' t seen Mr + Mrs Long in quite some time (I moved to AZ) but I am happy to say that on a trip back East this past June i was able to visit with Art + Nancy at their Barnegat Home. Mr Long left a legacy in his children and they stand strong together. Sorry to see you pass Poppy Art. You led a pretty good life and were loved by many. I will look back on my memories with you with fondness. Gob bless you and your family.

To my big brother. I will miss you dearly. I wish we could haved lived closer
together so we could have spent more time together like going fishing. Today I would have probably beat ya like that one time I beat you in that dance contest that you would never concide too.Art i will always remember all the good times we had together when we were young.

To my Uncle Art, I wish I could of had more time to spend with you and gotten to know you better and for you to have met my family as well. My father told me that he gave me my middle name of Edward after you. He always told me great stories of about how good and strong of person you were in life. I hope I can live up to being named after you.
