Harry Fritz

Harry Fritz of Manahawkin, New Jersey passed away peacefully at the Barnegat Nursing Center on July 11, 2013. Formerly of Jersey City, Harry moved his family down to Manahawkin in 1978 and resided in the Beach Haven West section of town. Harry was born 1927 in Jersey City to Katherine and Simon Fritz who emigrated from the Ukraine, and was the youngest and sole survivor of nine siblings. Harry survived his wife Jean Rose (Keenan) Fritz who passed away in 1994 and his loving granddaughter Jessica Fritz who passed away on May 30, 2013. Harry retired as a life-time employee of McRoberts Protective Agency out of Port Newark and served as a United States Merchant Marine from 1943 to 1946. He is survived by his seven children and their spouses Harry & Janet Fritz of Manahawkin; Edward & Susan Fritz of Forked River; Frank & Sharon Fritz of Williamstown; Michael Fritz of Toms River; William Fritz of Manahawkin; Jean & Kevin Oese of Manahawkin and Janet & Walter Crappse of Cape Coral, Florida. Harry was a grandfather to 12 and a great-grandfather to 8. A private viewing was held on July 14th at Shinn Funeral Home and private family burial was held on July 31st at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Manahawkin, New Jersey.
