

Rosalie Bello, 79, of Manahawkin, formerly of Nutley, entered into eternal rest on January 9, 2014. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 12, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Drive, in Manahawkin. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 13, at St. Mary’s R. C. Church, 747 West Bay Avenue, in Barnegat, followed by a procession to Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, in East Hanover. Please omit flowers.
Rosalie was born in Harrison, attending Holy Cross Catholic School in Harrison before transferring to Nutley High School. She completed a vocational work experience program in secretarial arts and began her professional career as an office worker for Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company and a telephone operator for New Jersey Bell Telephone Company. After marrying and raising her children, Rosalie continued her professional career by working as an operator for Telephone Answering Service in Nutley and Receptionist and Instruction Book Editor for Wallace & Tiernan in Belleville until the corporation closed its corporate headquarters in the late 1990’s. Upon relocating with her husband to Manahawkin, Rosalie became a playground/cafeteria aide for the Stafford Township School District until her retirement in 2013. Rosalie was for many years a Eucharistic Minister for Holy Family R. C. Church in Nutley. She was also active in community organizations committed to the honor and support of veterans. Rosalie was a charter member, chaplain, and vice-president of the Unit 33 Ladies Auxiliary for the Military Order of the Purple Heart, serving in honor of her husband, James, a Purple Heart Medal recipient. She also held life memberships in the Ladies Auxiliaries for the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion.
Rosalie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gail and George Ceravolo; grandchildren, Cassie Ann and Alexis Bello; and sister, Mildred Sebastian. She is predeceased by her husband, James A.
