Alan Harvey Goldberg, age 74, of Marlboro, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Alan was born in Brooklyn, New York. A loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle and great-uncle, Alan is survived by his wife, Felice Goldberg; his son Scott Goldberg; and his daughter Janice Goldberg; and his sister Beth (Dr. Daniel) Meyer.
Alan graduated from Stuyvesant High School in 1968 and went to Brooklyn College where he met his wife, Felice Goldberg (nee Dworkin). After graduating from Brooklyn College in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, Alan went on to successfully pass the C.P.A exam in August 1975 and then obtained his Masters of Science degree in Finance from Pace University in 1980. While he was completing his professional credentials, Alan and Felice married in 1975 and moved to Marlboro, New Jersey in 1981, where they would make their home for the next 44 years.
After working for a few years, Alan started his professional accounting firm, Alan H. Goldberg, C.P.A, in 1985. He ran his business with the utmost professionalism and dedication to his clients for 40 years.
Outside of work, Alan was an active member of Temple Beth Shalom in Manalapan, New Jersey, regularly attending Friday night and Saturday morning services, participating in adult education classes, and acting in the annual “Purimspiel.” His favorite sport was baseball, and he loved going on the subway with his father to watch the New York Yankees play at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, and later, riding the subway on his own to Shea Stadium to root for the New York Mets.
Nothing was more important to Alan than his family, and he made sure that every Sunday night there was a family dinner with the Goldbergs all around the dinner table—his wife Felice, children Janice and Scott, mother Ethel, sister Beth, brother-in-law Danny, nephew Zachary and niece Ilyssa. He was happiest at home with his family on ordinary days and holidays, and loved nothing more than to reminisce about his fondest memories with them.
