Arnie earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Thomas Edison State University. His career was defined by excellence and leadership as Supervisor of Aeronautical Services in the Aviation Technical Services Division at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. In this role, Arnie not only contributed to the advancement of aviation infrastructure but also served as a proud mentor to many colleagues who benefited from his guidance and expertise.
Arnold lived in East Windsor, NJ before retiring to Boynton Beach, Florida. In 2021, Arnold returned to NJ to brave the cold and spend his remaining years with family and friends.
Arnie is lovingly remembered by his wife, Michele Sloane; his children: daughter Robbin Del Giudice and her husband Rocco; son Jeff Sloane and his wife Lisa; daughter Laura Teman and her husband Michael; daughter Meredith Bucchere and her husband Matt, his grandchildren, Amanda, Jessica, Samantha, Alyssa, Andrew and Daniel, as well as his loving caregiver Mary Fanning. He was predeceased by his parents, Irving and Anne Sloane.
Though an only child, Arnie shared a lifelong bond with his late best friend Dick Cunningham, whom he considered a brother. Their friendship was a cornerstone of Arnie’s life, and it brings comfort to imagine them reunited once again over a game of backgammon.
A man of wide-ranging interests and sharp intellect, Arnie found joy in backgammon, boxing matches, cheering for the New York Giants, solving word puzzles, watching Jeopardy!, playing Wordle daily, performing card tricks with flair, and enjoying tennis. These hobbies reflected both his competitive spirit and love for mental challenges.
