Bennie was born on August 5, 1924 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He often spoke fondly about his hometown and his childhood of always being out and playing with friends. He was a lifelong Pittsburgh sports fan, even after he and his family moved to New Jersey.
He met his wife Esther Siniakin on a blind date and they were married in May 1954. They were very happily married for 68 years.
Bennie was predeceased by his beloved wife; his siblings Sarah Kotovsky, Abraham Siniakin, Mary Hoyer, Manuel Siniakin, and Shirley Gross; and his parents Samuel and Bessie Siniakin.
He is survived by four children: son Robert Siniakin; daughter Iris Boyle and her husband Richard; daughter Sandra Gutterman; and daughter Karen Siniakin and her husband Matthew Kuznitz. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Kenneth Stelmaszczyk, Deborah Stelmaszczyk and her partner Thomas Kasper, Diana Stelmaszczyk, Michael Siniakin, Brittany Kuznitz, Alison Kuznitz, Tessa Gutterman, and Josh Gutterman; and one great-granddaughter Paige Kasper.
Bennie will be remembered for his kindness and wit, how much he loved spending time with his family, his commitment to his Jewish faith, his Western movies he always watched, and so much more. He served during WWII with the 104th division (the Timberwolves), 413th Infantry company I, and was awarded a Purple Heart. We’ll remember his green eyes as he sang Green Eyes.
