Donald Richard Sacks

Donald Sacks, age 89, of Monroe Township, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025. Don was born in New York City to Louis and Anna Sacks on April 13th, 1935 and married Faith Leslie in 1957 before moving to Union, New Jersey in 1968. They raised a daughter, Laurie and a son, Mitchell before relocating to Monroe township. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from City College of New York and a Master Degree in Civil Engineering from Brooklyn Polytechnic and retired a Sr. Traffic Engineer for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. Later in life he pursued his passion for teaching and became a Professor of Mathematics at The College of New Jersey & Kean University and taught classes until December, 2024.

Don was an avid paddle ball and tennis player and enjoyed traveling and acting in community theatre with his beloved wife, Faith of 66 years.

Donald is survived by his wife Faith, his daughter Laurie, son-in-law Sam Landy, his son Mitchell Sacks, his sister and brother-in-law Brenda & Ted Hirsch, his brother Stephen Sacks and late brother and sister-in-law, Ralph & Dorothy Sacks, late sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Nathan and Edith Shapiro, sister-in-law, Jacqueline Gold, and her late husband Sydney Gold, his three grandchildren, Jeremy, (wife-Sukie), Harry, (Lauren) and Daniel, (wife-Jesse), and great grandchild, Jonah.

Funeral Services will be held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan, NJ 07726 on Sunday March 16, 2025 at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Floral Park Cemetery, 104 Deans Rhode Hall Rd, Monmouth Junction NJ 08852

The family will be sitting shiva at the Landy residence on Sunday from 4-9pm, and Monday through Thursday from 12-4pm, and 6:45pm-9pm.
