Ellen was born in Buffalo, NY, on January 5, 1938 and graduated from the University of Buffalo in 1959. After she got married to her husband Morris, she moved to Fresh Meadows, Queens, New York City in 1960. She and her family later moved to East Windsor, NJ in 1973.
She worked in various jobs, including as a substitute teacher and most notably as the office manager of the Windsor Hights Herald newspaper in East Windsor from 1983 to 2003.
She was predeceased by her husband Morris and her daughter lives in Mount Laurel and her son in East Windsor. Her full name is Ellen Esther Smith Kimmelman.
She is survived by her daughter Judy (Steven) Beck of Mt. Laurel, NJ, her son Steven Kimmelman of East Windsor, NJ, and her three grandchildren; Alexa Farhan, Adam Farhan, and Dylan Beck.
Graveside Services will be held under the direction of Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels at Beth El Perrineville Cemetery, 755 Perrineville Road, Millstone, NJ on Wednesday July 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
